One of the leading insurance carriers of United States wanted to sell its products via a range of distributors, which distributors further sold through a series of health care agents and its subsidiaries.

Here is a brief description of the problems faced by the customer.

  • Marketing department needed to publish information

  • The published information needed to be access by Distributors

  • The distributors would further publish marketing information to its agents

  • All of the above had to be strictly controlled by security policies due to the recent privacy laws which health care companies needed to adhere

  • The customer had a low-fixed budget

  • Needed to get to the market quickly to stay ahead of the competition

IOTAP Solution

IOTAP along with the help of a Microsoft Platform Partner (MPP) came up with an innovative solution which helped the customer overcome its challenges.

MPP was engaged in functional specification of the application and gathered all of the different

  • Screen Mockups

  • Functional Specification

  • Database Schema

The functional spec was then shared with IOTAP and IOTAP developed a Sharepoint Services solution to tackle the problem.

Here is a brief overview of how IOTAP developed the Sharepoint solution

  • Developed User Control using

  • .Net 1.1 using an architecture similar to LLB-Gen-Pro

  • Integrated the user controls within a Web-Part framework

  • The web-parts were then further integrated on to the Sharepoint portal environment
