Situation :

CBC was earlier using open source technology – Jhoomla for their CMS. They also had a contract with the vendor for maintaining their content on website portal. CBC found itself in miserable conditions when it realized that all its data has been corrupted and there are no chances of content recovery. Being website used for online memberships, online sale of research papers and Event coordination and declaration, it was important for CBC to start up this website at the earliest. But this time questions were raised by the CBC over the systems reliability, flexibility, and the ability of staff to maintain the system when it was required.

Existing vendor was unable to meet these expectations and failed to recover the existing content.

CBC finally ran out of patience with the system and approached IOTAP to develop a solution; the key requirements being reduced risk through stability, adaptability, functionality, and quicker time-to-market.

Solution :

 The main challenge facing IOTAP was to replicate the user interface of the current system whilst providing a more dynamic, functionally rich solution that allowed easy maintenance. IOTAP chose to replace its Open Source CMS the system; its replacement was Microsoft Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 running on Microsoft Windows® 2003 Server, which would dramatically reduce the time, cost, and complexity associated with building, deploying, and maintaining the Web site.

Benefits :

IOTAP accepted the responsibility to provide timely solution while considering all above aspects of requirements. SharePoint Server helped CBC to achieve faster time-to-market, low total cost of ownership and increased user efficiency.
